Paul Whitaker

Paul Whitaker has over 28 years of experience in franchising and is a genuine and passionate “Franchise Ambassador” with great appreciation for the franchising business model and how it can help people realize their dream of independent business ownership. Franchising positively changed the trajectory of his life and now he wants to help others find the best opportunity to help them do the same. He feels blessed with his family’s financial independence and wants to “pay it forward” to others. He has a strong belief in “selfless service” and puts this at the core of how he approaches his role as a consultant.

Paul’s vast experience in franchising began with positions of increasing responsibility in marketing and business development in Corporate America. He spent significant time at both General Motors Corporation and Hallmark Cards, Incorporated. At both companies Paul had major responsibilities that required substantial time collaborating with both their dealership and franchise owner networks. Additionally, he also has extensive experience as a very successful multi-unit franchisee.

Significantly, for anyone pursuing franchise ownership, Paul has seen franchising from both the franchisor and franchisee point-of-view, and this gives him a unique perspective that he can share with his candidates on their exploration journey.

In 2003, Paul and his wife became multi-unit franchisees for the largest global kitchen and bath franchise, owning both the Kansas City and mid-Missouri territories. During their 15 years of ownership, they won many awards most notably Franchisee of the Year and Global Franchisee of the Year.

In addition to operating their own multi-unit franchise, Paul was actively involved with the franchisor in many key roles throughout his tenure, including President of the Franchise Advisory Council, President of the New Product Development Committee, and Leader in Best Practice initiatives. These personal experiences further his ability to determine the best franchise match for a given candidate.

During this time Paul also launched a second business focused on Home Organization products to compliment the kitchen and bath business and leverage their operational capabilities and extensive client database. Paul’s experience in running a multi-unit and multi-brand operation are uniquely important benefits to working with him.

Paul successfully sold his franchise in 2018 and joined the largest franchise development company in the United States. He fell in love with assisting people through the franchise sales process and helped many identify the best franchise and make a successful leap into franchise ownership. He is now a part of the elite FranChoice family consisting of the best franchise consultants in the world. He is thrilled to continue his love for helping others achieve their dreams through franchising by employing his “selfless service” philosophy and principles.

Paul graduated from The University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan. He is married to his soul mate Amy and now resides in Kansas City, has two children, and two dogs. He is an avid sports fan, enjoys travel, great wine, and anything that has to do with health, wellness, and fitness. He has a very strong faith in God and believes we can do all things through Him.
