Dan Lorenz

Dan’s varied experience in franchising, investing and the United States Army Special Forces has given him a broad set of tools invaluable to aspiring entrepreneurs. As a current franchise owner of multiple house-hold name brands, Dan has learned to leverage his skill set to continue growing his private portfolio and equally important, to guide aspiring entrepreneurs along the path to achieve their dreams.

Mr. Lorenz transitioned from active duty military service into the finance industry where he has worked as an investment banker in New York and Virginia as well as a business strategy consultant in Washington, DC. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Dan studied resilience and post-traumatic stress disorder at the National Defense University. He completed a three-year intensive study during which he learned Warren Buffett-style value investing via Phil Town which coincided with him having earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business. Dan continues to leverage his education and real-world franchise experience to practice, grow and implement value investing strategies into his private investments and to leverage lean start-up principles into his own franchises.

Dan became a FranChoice consultant to “pay forward” the guidance and support he received as he transitioned from the military into entrepreneurship. His devotion to guiding veterans and aspiring entrepreneurs toward realizing their entrepreneurial dreams is what drives Dan each and every day.

Dan currently splits time living between Michigan, Colorado and Washington, D.C. with his wife Kristen, their two children, J.J. and Jordan and their English Labrador, Cami.
