Charles’ extensive franchise experience is an asset in helping candidates shorten the discovery process of searching for a franchise. His owner perspective and knowledge of multi-unit operations as well as his experience with mergers and acquisitions provides a great frame of reference to candidates when searching the right franchise fit.
Charles is an alumnus of UNCW and upon graduation, he joined a wireless wholesale distributor as their Southeast Account Rep. His main responsibility was to find the “perfect” location for cellular dealers to open a storefront. After spending 8 years in outside sales with them, the time was right for him to cross over into entrepreneurship. He opened his first cellular location in 2013. By 2017, he had grown from one location in Harrisonburg, Virginia to 20 locations that spanned from Virginia to Georgia. He gained expertise in scaling one location into a multi-unit operation. While growing the business, he served on the Exclusive Retailer Counsel for Sprint and received two awards; the Sales Performance Award and the Northeast Operator of the Year. After the 20th location opened, he was ready to take on a new challenge. He sold the wireless business in late 2017.
Soon after, he joined the health and wellness brand by acquiring 5 existing locations across Northern Virginia. In 2020, he merged with two additional locations in Virginia, bringing the total to 7. He is currently a part of a National Franchise Advisory Board. He most recently added to his health and wellness franchise portfolio by joining an exclusive fitness brand in Raleigh, NC.
