Bill Blackmon has a diverse background as a senior sales/marketing, operations executive with a proven track record in turnaround environments. Mr. Blackmon has extensive experience in both franchise and dealer channels of distribution combined with ownership in his own franchise business for many years.
Mr. Blackmon began his corporate sales career with a division of the Beatrice companies, Del Mar Window Coverings, where in less than two years he received his first of four promotions as a key account manager for the Midwest region. From there Mr. Blackmon’s last position at the age of 31 was the Western Director of Sales responsible for $41MM in revenues and a staff of 37 sales and management employees.
Mr. Blackmon then joined his first franchise company, Jiffy Lube, as part of a management team that grew the store count from 18 to 66 in less than two years. Mr. Blackmon’s primary responsibility was to implement marketing and promotional plans for 8 markets in the southwest and to build brand awareness with the consumer. After a sale of the company, Mr. Blackmon then joined a former Beatrice Company, Louverdrape, as the Vice President of National Accounts with primary responsibility for major accounts including Sears and J. C. Penney.
In 1991, Mr. Blackmon purchased the existing franchise operations of Val Pak of San Antonio, the largest direct mail advertising company in America. He operated the Val-Pak franchise for eight years while increasing both sales and profits by over 300%, Mr. Blackmon sold the company in late 1998.
In early 1999, Mr. Blackmon joined Money Mailer, another direct mail advertising company, as the Vice President of Franchise Development with specific responsibilities for franchise sales, training, operations and field management.
Mr. Blackmon has been an Independent Consultant with FranChoice since December of 2000. Since that time he as assisted hundreds of prospects in their quest to understand franchising and requirements for franchise ownership. In this role he uses his extensive knowledge and experience to assist people in their selection of a franchise opportunity that is the perfect match for them.
