FranChoice welcomes new consultant Andy Banker!
Andy is a 14 year veteran of the franchising world. His career began with a nine year tenure with Gateway computers. With the collapse of the tech bubble in the early 2000’s, many of Andy’s friends and colleagues lost their stable corporate jobs and were left looking at an uncertain future. It was then that he decided that no one else would determine his future and he would be in active control of his own destiny. In order to create his ideal career, he decided it needed to have three characteristics: 1) the industry needed to be recession resistant, 2) he needed to be the boss and 3) it needed to create equity and cash flow leveraging other peoples’ time and money.
In 2004, with his wife 7 1/2 months pregnant with their first child and all of his bills paid for one full year he decided to leave the constraints of corporate America for good. He went all in with the fastest growing tax preparation firm in the world, Liberty Tax Service. Andy’s initial year was so successful that he was awarded the “International Franchisee of the year” by the International Franchise Association.
After the success of his first year, Andy rapidly grew his business from there. Over the next few years, he expanded his business by adding multiple units as a franchisee as well as acquiring entire cities as an Area Developer in El Paso, Dallas, Nashville, and Tulsa. In addition to Liberty Tax, Andy has become one of the largest Area Developers for Siempre Tax+ franchise, which is one of the only Hispanic brands for tax preparers in the nation.
Andy lives in Kansas City and part time at the Lake of the Ozarks during the summer. He and his wife have been married for over 15 years and they have two children. In his spare time, and he enjoys traveling, coaching his kids in sports, and church related activities.
