In 1978 at the age of 25, Bill created his own retail/manufacturing/ distribution/advertising/marketing start-up eyewear business called America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, growing it to more than $100 million in annual sales. Employing approximately 1550 people in 25 states, he opened 125+ stores serving millions of customers. Bill sold the company for $24 million in 1990 while continuing to run it as Chairman, CEO & President. He bought it back for $40 million in 1993 and then sold it again in its entirety in 1997 for $50 million. Bill was involved in every aspect of his business. He understands as only one who has gone through such growth can, all that is involved with new businesses: going from 1 store to 2 to 4 and beyond. Bill has dealt with every imaginable aspect of business (and some unimaginable) providing him with a unique understanding about opening and growing new businesses. Bill’s been asked back from time to time as a Consultant for the company which has grown to about 500 locations in 40+ states.
Subsequent to his final sale of the business and in addition to choosing to spend valuable time with his family while volunteering in his community, Bill served as a Business Consultant on a variety of projects with various investment and private equity firms, as well as serving on Advisory/Boards of Directors. He advised individuals and institutional investors whether to purchase particular businesses, how to improve a business’s operations, profitability, customer service, etc.. As you evaluate select franchise opportunities to own your own business, Bill’s experience will be enormously helpful to you.
Bill and FranChoice are a perfect match for all involved. He shares your entrepreneurial spirit. He will assist you throughout this process as you investigate and evaluate select business opportunities in your franchise search.
And speaking of perfect matches, Bill lives with his wife of 30 years. They have two grown children… by far their proudest achievements for which Bill says they “accept only partial credit”. Contact Bill directly at BGrody@FranChoice.com or (978) 406-3550.
BTW, Bill’s just a regular guy who can’t wait to hear from you so he can help you enjoy the American Dream just as he has… a dream that’s still very much alive and well through franchising!
