In 1956, the first Midas muffler repair shop was opened by Nate Sherman in Macon, Georgia. Sherman started the business with a vision of quality, service and a promise of "for as long as you own your car." Midas is now a publicly-traded company and has more than 2,500 locations in the United States and worldwide. Today, Midas services shock absorbers, brakes, tires, batteries, radiators and heating and cooling systems. The company also manufactures and distributes parts for brakes, steering-suspension, muffler and exhaust systems.
