After 14 years in the window business, she relocated back to the Midwest to run a sales office for The Kellwood Company. Six months later, she was an early victim of corporate downsizing. That is when she decided that she wasn’t going to make that mistake again – she wanted the control of her future in her hands. By the end of 1994, she purchased a Money Mailer direct mail advertising business in the western Chicago suburbs. In the next eight years, she grew it into one of the largest and most profitable businesses in the franchise. What was her secret? “Just go out each day and help someone solve a problem or simply make a new friend! I have to have fun every day of my life.” This “people first” focus has driven Mary Anne to success in both the corporate world as well as her two business ownership ventures. She knows what it is like to make the commitment to start a business, the anxiety it creates and the rewards that are possible. She still manages to keep her interior design skills sharp renovating a lake house in Alden, MI as well as a winter getaway in Jupiter, FL.
