Mary has over 35 years of business experience as a franchise owner-operator and master franchisor developer. She and her husband, Ken, joined ServiceMaster, after moving from Virginia to New Hampshire. Together they developed a multi-million dollar residential and commercial cleaning franchise with offices throughout New Hampshire. It grew to be one of the top ServiceMaster businesses in the U.S. and was recognized with a Master Award for being the top franchise in the country. In her role as a Master Franchisor, Mary helped many others in the State of New Hampshire realize their dreams of business ownership. At the same time, she helped ServiceMaster pilot their initial maid service, HomeBrite. Mary identified and developed services throughout New Hampshire and parts of Massachusetts and this business later became part of Merry Maids.
With an undergraduate business degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Masters of business organization degree from Antioch College, in the 1990s Mary taught leadership development and team-building classes to adult students at Southern New Hampshire University and Daniel Webster College. She received high evaluations and acclaim for bringing a collaborative style to her classroom. Just prior to becoming a FranChoice consultant, Mary was a financial advisor with American Express where she helped people identify and reach their financial goals. She was both a Mercury Award winner and a President’s Award winner, being recognized for her quality of advice and extraordinary service.
Mary has the fire of an entrepreneur and the heart of a social worker always helping others to achieve their goals. Mary lives with her husband Ken. Active in her community she is a member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA, a docent for the Zimmerman House (a Frank L Lloyd Wright house) and sits on the Advisory Council at the Currier Museum of Art.
