Taking the leap required to become a small business owner is not easy, but Laura managed to successfully navigate these waters at a very young age. Her focus was on creating knowledge, implementing proven tactics and executing her dream. This made both her neighborhood Deli and small Coffee Café positive and integral parts of her community in Minneapolis.
With a loyal, repeat customer base Laura had the opportunity to be a positive influence with the employees she nurtured and the clients she served. It also taught Laura to become very effective with all aspects of business ownership including: sales and promotion, employee recruitment, training, retention, customer service and most importantly, growth.
After successfully selling the businesses Laura focused on raising her two young daughters and making another positive impact on her community through an entirely different entrepreneurial experience. She became the first State representative consultant for a National cryogenic company. She used her love of developing relationships to further educate doctors, expectant parents and hospitals on the unique and forthcoming process of cord blood banking. Being the first in her industry to take on this challenge helped pave the path and open doors for others to succeed.
Looking back on her positive business experiences Laura knew that the part she enjoyed the most was working with people to help them achieve their goals and dreams.
