Larry Klukowski comes to FranChoice with a very successful background in management, sales, and business ownership as the former franchisor and president of Fabrion, the leading automotive interior restoration franchise in the U.S. He has experienced and lived first hand what so many people want most out of owning their own business, a piece of the ‘American Dream’. In 1974, after graduating from Eastern Michigan University’s College Of Business, Larry started his professional employment with J.C.Penney as a corporate management trainee. After two years and realizing the length of time it was going to take to earn serious money he decided to leave this secure position in 1976, and began working as a new car salesman at a high volume Chrysler Dealership. After eleven months he became the New Car Sales Manager and shortly thereafter he was appointed Used Car Manager. It was during this time that he discovered the automotive interior repair business.
He noticed that every time he ordered interior repair work on some cars in the dealership’s inventory, the repair company was issuing a repair invoice order of several hundred dollars for an hour or two of work. It was this knowledge which prompted him to get involved in the business of repairing automobile interiors. In late 1980 at age 28 he started his own interior repair business. Within two years, Larry’s business was servicing 80 automobile and rental car companies repairing vinyl, leather, cloth, carpet, and plastic interior substrates. Business thrived and soon he was operating three mobile units servicing these accounts.
In 1988 Larry began franchising this business called Fabrion throughout the U.S. with very good success. After 25 years of successful business ownership, supporting franchisees in 118 cities coast to coast and developing over 5000 car dealerships as customers through franchising, Larry sold the Fabrion business and decided to stay busy helping others through franchise consulting realize their dreams of business ownership.
