Bill Grody

Bill brings a unique, extensive, and highly successful business background to assist each of his franchise candidates at FranChoice. He will work diligently with you to find your perfect franchise match, enabling you to realize your goal of owning and growing your own business. At the age of 25, Bill created his own retail/manufacturing/distribution/marketing start-up business, growing it to more than $100 million in annual revenues. Employing approximately 1400 people in 25 states, he opened 125+ stores serving millions of customers. Bill sold the company for $24 million while continuing to run it as CEO, Chairman, and President. He bought it back for $40 million, and then sold it in its entirety for $50 million. Bill was involved in every aspect of his business. He understands, as only one who has gone through such growth can, all that is involved with creating a new business:  going from 1 store, to 2, to 4 and beyond. Bill has dealt with every imaginable aspect of business (and some unimaginable)  providing him with a unique understanding about opening and growing new businesses.

Subsequent to the final sale of his business, and in addition to choosing to spend valuable time with his family and volunteering in his community, Bill served as a Business Consultant on a variety of projects with various investment firms, as well as serving on Advisory/Boards of Directors. He advised these individuals and institutions whether to purchase a particular business, how to improve operations and profitability, etc.  Bill's invaluable experience will assist you enormously as you evaluate the opportunities to own your own business through franchising.

Before joining forces with FranChoice, Bill served as the Director of Franchise Development with a leading national franchisor (co-founded by one of Staples’ founders). His franchising “tutor” was the company’s Chairman, who was also the Chairman of the International Franchise Association. This one-on-one franchising education was one of Bill’s primary considerations in joining the company:  to understand franchising fully. As he has done time and again throughout his 30+ year career, Bill and the franchising team he assembled surpassed all expectations and projections as he led the company's franchising efforts. With Bill’s strong business, consulting, and franchising background, Bill’s insight will be an invaluable resource for you.
